The Galileo Institute is the hard sciences unit of the Sorbonne Paris-Nord University. It gathers courses of both undergraduate and graduate levels, an engineering school – Sup Galilée – and seven research laboratories. This peculiar allows for an increase in the necessary synergy between research, general training and technological as well as vocational education, allowing for but the best of curriculums for our students. The Institute’s laboratories conduct innovative, high-level research work across a large spectrum of scientific fields, from mathematics to chemistry, but also computer science, physics, engineering science, materials and bio-materials. Almost all of these laboratories are associated with the big research facilities (CNRS and INSERM). They enjoy a strong reach, both at the national and international levels, as demonstrated by the results of the last national assesments and their involvement in six LABEX and one EQUIPEX, supported by the “investissements d’avenir” program.
At every level we insist on our students’ professional integration. A Sup Galilée Entreprises and a sandwich course forums are held every year; numerous partnerships with companies are signed. This approach has been strengthened in the last years thanks to an active partnership with Plaine Commune Promotion. Moreover, our researchers and students can benefit from the support of the Incub’13 incubator in order to develop company-starting activities. Furthermore, as to best prepare our students for tomorrow’s world in all its diversity, numerous actions are lead to facilitate international exchanges.
Dynamism of both research and education, active partnership with companies, international outreach, such are the assets of the Galileo Institute, that we bolster each year.
