Le LIPN

The Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris-Nord (CNRS UMR 7539), created in 1985, is associated with the CNRS since January 1992 and holds the status of joint research unit (UMR 7030) since January 2001. Research conducted in the LIPN gravitates around strong axes supported by the skills of its members, particularly in combinatorial, combinatorial optimisation, algorithmics, logic, software engineering, natural language, and in learning. The laboratory is structured in five teams, that reflect these axes :

  • A3 : Artificial learning and applications,
  • AOC : Algorithms and combinatorial optimisation,
  • CALIN : Combinatorial, ALgorithmics and INteractions
  • LoVe : Logic and Verification,
  • RCLN : Knowledge representation and natural language.

Among the 150 members engaging in the laboratory's activities, there are 87 researchers or permanent teachers-researchers, most of which in post at the Paris Nord Sorbonne Université (in the Galileo Institute or at the Villetaneuse IUT).
